We recently completed a full fire damage restoration in Doncaster, South Yorkshire. From initial emergency response to drying, strip-out and final finishes — this property is now back to pre-loss condition.
We were recently called out to a severe fire-damaged property in Doncaster, South Yorkshire. The fire had affected multiple rooms and caused extensive smoke, soot, and water damage throughout the home following fire brigade intervention.
Our team was tasked with a complete restoration, from the emergency response phase through to full refurbishment.
Initial Response & Assessment
Once the property was declared safe, we carried out a full damage assessment and moisture mapping using a Tramex CMEX5 digital moisture meter and a FLIR thermal imaging camera to identify hidden damp areas caused by the firefighting efforts.
Strip-Out & Decontamination
We completed a controlled strip-out of all affected materials, including fire-damaged plasterboard, floor coverings, and smoke-contaminated insulation.
The structure was then chemically cleaned using odour-neutralising products, followed by ULV fogging to eliminate deep-seated smoke odours.
Drying Process
Due to the high moisture content, we installed a targeted drying system including:
-
Desiccant dehumidifiers
-
Axial air movers
-
Heat drying mats for damp concrete floors
-
Remote monitoring via WiFi-enabled sensors to track progress and avoid over-drying
The drying phase took just over 10 days thanks to optimal conditions and constant monitoring.
Full Restoration
Once dry and sanitised, our in-house team began reinstatement works. This included:
-
Plastering and re-boarding walls
-
Full decoration and flooring installation
-
Electrical rewire and safety certification
-
Kitchen and bathroom refit to a modern finish
By the end of the job, the house was fully restored to its pre-loss condition, ready for the homeowner to return.
